Final Fridays at Coventry Village – October 29
Discount deals on food, drinks and more is the name of the game October 29 from 5-9p at the Final Fridays event at Coventry Village. Other activities include a sidewalk sale at Avalon Exchange; an art walk and market, mask making, the Cleveland Photo Fest Photography Stroll, a free screening of “Hocus Pocus” in the park; a performance by the Singers Club of Cleveland. Final Fridays takes place the last Friday of each month.

The cult classic, “Tales from the Hood,” directed by Rusty Cundieff (Fear Of A Black Hat, Sprung) and produced by Spike Lee, screens at the Cleveland Cinematheque Friday, October 29 at 7p. Starring Clarence Williams III (Prince’s dad in “Purple Rain”); David Alan Grier, Corbin Bernsen, Rosalind Cash and many others, the film revolves around a funeral home director (Clarence Williams III) and the three drug dealers he holds captive while telling them scary stories relating to issues still plaguing African Americans: domestic abuse, police brutality, racism and white supremacy, and gang violence. General Admission: $10; Member: $7 (includes CIA and CSU I.D. holders). Age 25 & under: $7 (proof of age required). ** Masks are required for all filmgoers. Your temperature will be taken upon entering the building, and a wristband (handed out by security) must be worn while in the building.

Showcasing Cleveland's best chefs, pastry artists, master mixologists, and restauranteurs as they offer up their favorite cuisines and signature beverages and a host of other activities in support of the domestic violence advocacy, education, and support programs. Based on the hit 1996 heist film starring Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett, Vivica A. Fox and Kimberly Elise, and directed by F. Gary Gray, this stage production stars Da Brat - now heard on Cleveland airwaves via the syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show - Vanessa Simmons, Latoya London and Keshia Knight Pulliam.
