The Annual Red, Black and Green Christmas Show returns to the Grog Shop, 785 Coventry (44106) Saturday, December 25 at 8:30p featuring Muamin Collective.  Also on the bill are LMNTL, Downhill Collective, Sparks, and Opus. Tickets are $10 in advance; $12 at the door. Doors open at 8p.

 

 

UMOJA: Unity - It Takes a Village at moCa – December 26

Celebrate the first day of Kwanzaa at the Museum of Contemporary Art(moCa), 11400 Euclid Avenue (44105) Sunday, December 26 from 1-4p. “Umoja: Unity – It Takes a Village” features musical guests Obie Shelton, Hue People, and storytelling griots Jackki Boyd, Judy Bateman, Joyce Morrow Jones, poet Vince Robinson, and more. moCa artist-in-residence Joyce Morrow Jones and Paul and Marquita Hill will serve as Elders of Ceremony.  Free!  The afternoon will include activities for all ages and access to current exhibits including “Joyce Morrow Jones: Black Butterfly,” and “Terry Joshua: The Pinkest Hue.”

Trans-Siberian Orchestra 25th Anniversary Tour – December 30

The 25th anniversary of the annual holiday music tradition, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, returns to Cleveland for two performances of its holiday staple “Christmas Eve and Other Stories” at Rocket Mortgage Field House Thursday, December 30 at 3 and 8p.  Tickets start at $49.50.

New Year’s Eve with Guy Torry at Cleveland Improv – December 31-January 2

Bringing in the new year with a laugh is probably high on the list of many.  Well, here’s your chance.  Comedian Joe Torry will perform two shows at on Friday, December 31 at 7:30 and 10:30p at the Cleveland Improv, 1148 Main St. on the West Bank of the Flats. Tickets are $30 and $60 respectively.  A $65 dinner package is available for the 7:30 show. If you can’t make it on New Year’s Eve, Torry will remain in town for two additional shows Saturday, January 1 at 7:30p and Sunday, January 2, at 6:30p. Tickets are $20 for both performances.

New Year’s Eve “Living Art” Party at Lago East Bank – December 31

Lago Custom Events presents a New Year’s Eve party like no other: “Living Art: Revival of the Soirée” at Lago East Bank, 1091 W. 10th Street (44113) from 7p-2a.  The evening’s festivities will include party favors; music provided by DJ Jesse Howells and DJ Ik Dubaku; live performances from Verb Ballets; OPUS 216; and Evan Struck. Tickets range from $125-$425. Doors open at 7p for dinner guests; 10p for late night admission.

New Year’s Eve/Final Concert at Tangier  – December 31

Ring in the new year while saying goodbye to one of Ohio’s storied entertainment venues, The Tangier Event & Entertainment Center in Akron.  Cover band Disco Inferno will host a New Year’s Eve dinner/dance party at 7PM, followed by a Cabaret Dance Party featuring DJ Mike Ataya from 8p-12:30a. Tickets range from $90-$150. Disco Inferno is the final act scheduled to perform at Tangier.  The building will soon be transformed into a retail, dining and community event space owned by the Lebron James Foundation.
