Next week the American Hospital Association will bring the Accelerating Health Equity Conference to town. The three-day event starts Tuesday, May 10 and ends on Thursday, May 12. Hilton Cleveland downtown is conference headquarters.

Most attendees are expected to be professionals focused on improving community and population health and building partnerships, and those who work to advance diversity and inclusion within hospital management and executive levels.

Heather McGhee, author of "The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together," will provide opening keynote. Session topics range from addressing the social determinants of health in the workplace to supporting community efforts to fight environmental injustice.
