Social Venture Partners, an initiative that works to leverage community resources in support of nonprofit organizations, is offering a yearlong learning cohort designed to accelerate the impact of nonprofits focused on addressing critical issues affecting our region. The program blends 1:1 comprehensive capacity building support, peer learning, and workshops to support nonprofit leaders and their organizational goals.

The SVP approach particularly favors small to midsize organizations in the midst of organizational growth or change.

SVP has worked with nonprofits to address an array of challenges, including strategy/planning, program design & evaluation, executive coaching, IT, financial management, fund development, board leadership, and marketing/communications.

Applicants must hold 501(c)3 with the IRS or have a fiscal sponsor and work mainly in Cuyahoga County.

For its application process this year, SVP is using JustFund, described as “the only nonprofit grantmaking platform created by funders and organizers of color.”

Applications are due on Wednesday, May 25th by 8 pm. Visit here to apply or for more information.

Participants will each:

  • Receive support from SVP on 2-3 capacity-building needs* (approximately 150 – 200 hours of holistic, hands-on support)
  • Establish meaningful connections with other nonprofit leaders
  • Form authentic relationships with SVP Partners and the SVP community
  • Increase their confidence, resiliency, adaptability, and skills to navigate leadership challenges, opportunities, and organizational needs
  • Receive a one-time, general operating grant from SVP of $5,000

SVP is piloting this program in partnership with several local foundations. The foundations and SVP will each sponsor nonprofit organizations for this cohort.
