Laurie Murphy
Laurie Murphy is the new executive director of the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation. Murphy previously served as Northeast Ohio Medical University’s Director of Special Projects for their Cleveland site. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University (CSU) and master’s degrees from the University of Rochester, CSU and Case Western Reserve University, and is a PROSCI Certified Change Practitioner.
BPACF has been one of the leading nonprofits in Cleveland’s black community for more than 40 years, working to create opportunities for African American professionals by providing scholarship, leadership and career development, develop emerging professionals, celebrate distinguished leaders and elevate our community.
Today an event of celebration and education as BPACF hosts its inaugural Legacy Luncheon, honoring the career legacy of Robert P. Madison, Ohio's first licensed African American architect 1954]. The sold-out event takes place at Severance Hall.
BPACF will resume holding its signature event, the Scholarship Gala, on November 13, after a year's hiatus due to the pandemic. This year's event will celebrate businessman Darrell McNair the Black Professional of the Year.
