On Thursday, August 12 from 6-8pm, the 3rd Annual Intergenerational Student Art Show will take place at the Edward E. Parker Museum of Art's, Snickerfritz Gallery, 13240 Euclid Ave [44112].

This year’s show consists of works created by the 12 students — seven adults and five youths — who participated in the summer session. The show includes sculpture, prints, drawings, handmade jewelry, and even an edible work.

“Each year, the summer session gains a few new participants,” says Ed Parker, museum owner and show curator. “Some of them are return students.”

Parker, a retired professor, sculptor, and multi media artist, has operated the museum and gallery at its current location since 1984.

The Intergenerational Student Art Shows, funded by the Cleveland Foundation, are the culmination of a free five-week summer course open to all ages.  In addition to completing a variety of projects using an array of media, students learn about the framing process and engage in a discussion with an accomplished local artist.

Senior citizens can take art classes free of charge year round at the museum on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8p.
