Busta Rhymes dropped by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this afternoon for a special pop-up interview. The legendary rapper will sit down with Nwaka Onwusa, the Rock Hall’s vice president and chief curator, to talk about his iconic career as well as the recent release of his album, Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God. WZAK on-air personality Sam Sylk served as emcee.
This free outdoor event was held on the Rock Hall’s PNC Stage at Union Home Mortgage Plaza.
Busta Rhymes’ coat and hat worn in the music video for his debut solo single “Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check” is on display in the Museum’s Hip Hop exhibit. The hit reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In addition to his global musical success, with each of his first five solo albums attaining Platinum certification, the Hip-Hop outlier has also established himself as an actor, with a filmography that includes appearances alongside the likes of Sean Connery, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Laurence Fishburne, Ray Liotta, Whoopi Goldberg, Nick Cannon, Louis Gossett Jr., and Regina King. Those who know say Rhymes has stayed true to himself while staying both current, unique and creative Hip-Hop voice.
