Wild Winter Lights at Metroparks Zoo – Through January 2
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has become a nearly year-round destination for fantastic light displays. Its holiday installment, “Wild Winter Lights,” features more than one million individual lights and unique twists on holiday traditions. This year’s event features hundreds of lighting displays across holiday-themed areas and a dynamic light show featuring a massive 50-foot-tall tree. Drive-through and walk-through nights available. Through December 23, walk-through guests are welcome to take photos with Santa in his workshop.
Tickets are limited and advance online reservations are strongly encouraged. The discounted cost for Zoo members is $18 and $20 for non-members, or a 4-pack for $54 for members and $60 for non-members. Children under 2 are admitted for free. Tickets for the drive-through experience are $54 per car for Zoo members and $60 per car for non-members.
“Wild Winter Lights” remains on display through January 2, 2022.

‘Hogwarts: Tournament of Houses’ – November 28
In conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the release of the first Harry Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” TBS is premiering a four-week series “Hogwarts: Tournament of Houses,” on Sunday, November 28 at 8p, hosted by Academy Award-winning actress Helen Mirren, and geared toward to the uber-fans of all things Potter. Borrowing from the theme of competing houses in the books and films – Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff – contestants answer trivia questions in hopes of being crowned House Cup Champion.
Cleveland Public Theatre’s holiday offering is a series of nine short plays that may or may not have to do with the holidays.
10 Minutes To Midnight – December 2-18
The Cleveland Public Theatre presents “10 Minutes To Midnight: 9 Quirky Plays for the Holidays”.
This holiday season, Cleveland Public Theatre shares humor, heart, and a party-like celebration, wrapped in a montage of short holiday (or non-holiday) plays. Part variety show, part cabaret, and part 10-minute play festival, “10 Minutes to Midnight” celebrates the breadth of holiday happenings (or non-happenings) in this seasonal extravaganza dosed with live music, fun-sized scenes, hilarity, and humanity.
The production is directed by Caitlin Lewins and features Sarah Arafat, Tania Benites, Dar’Jon Marquise Bentley, Cait Butler, Dr. Nickol Calhoun, Sylka Edmondson, Brooke Myers, Drew Pope, Andrew Aaron Valdez, & Katie Wells. All tickets are on a “Pay what you can” scale. COVID-19 safety protocols are in place.

‘The Nutcracker’ at Connor Palace Theatre – December 3-5
After a one-year hiatus, a Cleveland holiday tradition returns as the Cleveland Ballet presents “The Nutcracker” at Connor Palace Theatre in Playhouse Square for FIVE performances Friday, December 3 – Sunday, December 5. The two-act play is based on the original story of E.T.A. Hoffman with music composed by Tchaikovsky, and choreography by Cleveland Ballet Artistic Director Gladisa Guadalupe.
Tickets range from $18.75-$119. Children 12 and older must show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results.
