Natoya J. Walker Minor, Chief of Public Affairs for the City of Cleveland, is leaving the Frank Jackson administration to become a top level official at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. Her last day with the city will be February 24.
On March 8, Walker will begin her new duties as GCRTA Deputy General Manager for Administration and External Affairs.
Walker's portfolio at City Hall has included responsibility for a cluster of personnel areas, including civil service, human resources, workforce development, and equal opportunity.
Walker told The Real Deal Press that she is excited to be joining GCRTA at a time when public transit issues are receiving increasing attention for their impact upon economic and community development.
Walker has served in the Jackson administration since 2006, often representing the mayor and the city in key stakeholder meetings. Her departure may be a signal that the Jackson inner circle understands the mayor's record-setting 16-year tenure is coming to a close.
