Lifelong Fairfax Resident, Vietnam Era Serviceman

Harold J. Barnett was a lifelong resident of Cleveland's Fairfax neighborhood. He was the son of the late Harold Sr. and Hazel Barnett. He is survived by his sister Carolyn King of Cambridge MA, brother Walter of Cleveland, one niece, and four nephews.

As a youth, Harold enjoyed visiting his paternal grandparents in Washington DC during summer vacations. He was active at the Cedar YMCA and in cub scouting at St. James AME Church, both within walking distance of his East 81st St. home.

Harold graduated from East High in 1962 and attended Central State University. He later served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict before becoming employed as a transit operator for the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority.
