Actor Andrew McCarthy starred in some of the most popular movies of the 1980s and was a member of a group of actors (Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson, Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald and Emilio Estevez) known by Hollywood as the Brat Pack.  The actor-turned-author/director will make a virtual stop at Hudson Library and Historical Society Friday May 14 at 7PM, along with author Dani Shapiro, to promote his latest book “Brat: An ‘80’s Story.”  Please register.

 

The ‘90s hip-hop group Digable Planets will perform via livestream Saturday May 15 at 9PM ET.

Still Cool Like Dat: The Grammy-winning trio Digable Planets: Butterfly (Ishmael Butler), Doodlebug (Craig Irving) and Ladybug (Mary Ann Vieira) will perform an exclusive livestream concert Saturday, May 15 from Nuemos in Seattle, Washington at 9PM ET/6PM PT. The performance will be available for viewing on Sessions Live. Tickets start at $15.

In 1993, Digable Planets’ first album “Reachin’” debuted on the Billboard 200 Chart. Their first single “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)” spent two weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles Chart and won a Grammy in 1994 for Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

Final Days for ‘Stories from Storage’ exhibit at Cleveland Art Museum – Through May 16

“Stories from Storage,” one of several exhibits currently on display at the Cleveland Museum of Art, will close on Sunday, May 16. The exhibit offers a thoughtful and focused examination of multiple important themes through seldom seen works of art carefully selected by each of the museum’s nearly two dozen curators, conveying multiple, complementing narratives.  Free for CMA members; adults $12; seniors and adult groups $9; students and children ages 5 to 17 $6; children under 5 free. Ticket reservations required. Museum hours are Tuesday – Sunday 10AM-5PM.
