Final Fridays return to Coventry Village
Final Fridays, the Coventry Village summer festival, returns today, Friday, May 28 from 5-9PM. Stop by for an evening of fun and festivity, including a sidewalk art walk, live entertainment including the Mojuba Dance Company, special performances in Pekar Park and more. Participating eateries will offer food and drink specials; local merchants will offer discounted shopping. Free parking will be available at all nearby meters, lots and garages.

Iconic musician Moby narrates this documentary about himself, reflecting on the highs and lows of his extensive career and personal life, including insight on his journey from becoming a struggling addict to vegan activist. Featuring archival clips, concert footage and interviews with music icon David Bowie and auteur David Lynch. This film is available for streaming from May 28 through June 17; the screening fee is $9.99 and viewers have 72 hours to watch.

‘Saturday Salon’ with Ramsey Lewis – May 29
For the second consecutive year, jazz great Ramsey Lewis hosts an intimate concert from his home on the last Saturday of each month. The virtual “Saturday Salon” performances are accessible through the StageIt concert app. Lewis will perform Saturday, May 29 at 2PM ET. This month’s theme is “The Incurable Romantic.” Tickets are $20 and available through StageIt. Note: Registration for the StageIt app is necessary to access the performance.

The latest installment of the “Real Conversations with AARP” lecture series will feature Chaka Khan on Tuesday, June 1 at 5PM ET on Facebook Live. The 10-time Grammy winner will discuss her career and her commitment to activism, through her Chaka Khan Foundation. To kick off Black Music Month, veteran TV and radio personality Donnie Simpson will serve as guest host.

Get a jump on summer with an all-white party at Mitchell’s Ultra Lounge, 24900 Euclid Ave [44117] featuring four-time Grammy-nominated R&B sensation Eric Benet. The opening act is singer Stacey Richardson (“Sarah’s Girl”). Native Clevelander Franc West, a contestant on Season 15 of NBC’s “The Voice,” will host.
General admission tickets are $75; VIP $125 and are available through Eventbrite. General admission allows concert seating and after-party access. VIP tickets allow access to a pre-party, buffet dinner, after party and more. Doors open at 7PM for VIP: 8:30PM for General Admission.
The 5th Annual Mac-n-Cheese Throwdown – June 6
The annual Mac-& Cheese-a-palooza is back for a fifth year, offering Clevelanders some of the best mac-n-cheese in town — all done in the name of charity. The Mac-n-Cheese throwdown features some of the area's top food trucks, competing at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, 19201 East Bagley Road [44130] from 11a-7p. Tickets are $2 with your admission including one free "sample".
This year's event will have both walking and drive-thru ticket options. Attendees who buy a walking ticket will have to observe COVID-19 protocols.
While this event helps promote local restaurants, it's also a fundraiser for W.A.G.S. 4 Kids, an organization dedicated to providing mobility and autism service dogs for children throughout northeast and central Ohio that uses an award-winning Cell Dog Training Program accredited by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.
