In conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month, Latino Restaurant Week continues through Saturday, October 9 at 10 Greater Cleveland restaurants including Hola Tacos, Half Moon Bakery, Barroco, Campus Grille Latin and Sabor Miami Café. Latino Restaurant Week gives foodies the opportunity to experience some of the best Latino Cuisine in Greater Cleveland by highlighting established, Latino-owned restaurants.

The Millennium Tour featuring Bow-Wow, Omarion – October 9
The Millennium Tour, featuring Omarion, Bow-Wow, Ashanti, Soulja Boy, Lloyd, Pretty Ricky, the Ying Yang Twins and Samme rolls into the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse for one show Friday, October 8 at 8PM. Tickets range from $49 - $325. A $3 fee will be applied to each ticket. Note: This show will not require proof of vaccination, so it is strongly recommended that all guests wear a mask at all times inside the FieldHouse.

Current Year Records and Tapes 1st Anniversary – October 9
If you’re looking for a cornucopia of happenings at one event, stop by the 1st anniversary party for Current Year Records and Tapes, 5580 Ridge Rd. (44129) from 11AM-8PM. Foodwise, check out Rudy’s Strudel, Brayson’s Ice Cream Truck, The Tomato Guys, Fat Heads Brewery and Melt Bar and Grilled. Cleveland author Laura DeMarco will be on site, signing books. There will also be vintage clothing vendors, giveaways and much more. Oh, and records, too! Music by DJ Mike One.

New York City Midnight Microfiction Challenge open to all! – October 15
NYC Midnight is hosting its third annual 250-word Microfiction Challenge Friday, October 15 at 11:59 PM. The competition challenges writers around the world to create very short stories no longer than 250 words based on genre, action, and word assignments in 24 hours. In Round One (October 15-16, 2021), writers are placed randomly in groups and are assigned a genre, action, and word assignment. Feedback from the judges is provided for every submission and there are thousands in cash and prizes for the winners. The $32 entry fee must be paid by October 14.

‘Disney’s The Lion King’ at Playhouse Square – Through October 15
The stage and screen phenomenon, Disney’s The Lion King, is currently in town on the Playhouse Square KeyBank State Theater stage through Friday, October 15. Directed by Julie Taymor, the current run of the Tony Award-winning “The Lion King” marks the musical’s fifth time in its 24 years of touring. No other city has hosted the musical five times.

Couples Mixology 101 – October 16
The latest instructional course by Western Reserve Distillers is Couples Mixology 101 on Saturday, October 16. This class is designed to help you create amazing cocktails in the security of your own home, leveraging fresh ingredients you can easily find at the grocery store. In this hands-on class, you'll have the freedom to choose your favorite spirit from a selection of Agave, Vodka, Gin, Rum, Bourbon & Rye. Each enrollee will then prepare two separate cocktails in progressive difficulty using locally grown organic ingredients. Please register. Tickets for the course are 12.50, but there is an additional fee to purchase the ingredients used to create the cocktails. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, class size is limited to 10 participants.
