Contractor was married to childhood sweetheart for 52 years

Damon Christopher Carroll, born on January 22, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio was the first of two boys born to Damon Carroll Sr. and Virginia Clara Leggon. Often referred to as “Chris” he attended Cleveland public schools until relocating to the Ludlow area of Shaker Heights, Ohio in 1958. Damon was well liked and very popular among his classmates. He graduated from Shaker Heights HS in 1967 and attended Central State University in Wilberforce for two years.
Damon died on Easter after a three year long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.
After college, Damon returned to Cleveland in 1969, and married his high school sweetheart, Annette Elizabeth Allen. Chris and Annette raised two daughters, Kimberly and Cindy.
Damon owned and operating a construction business, Damon’s ASC Construction Co., established in 1970. He was a general contractor until the time of his death. He was a hard-working man, always willing and ready to assist others with their needs. He enjoyed mentoring other contractors in the field and loved all his tools of the trade.
Outside of construction, Chris had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed camping — “life is good in the woods”, he would say. He was fond of sitting by a campfire with good friends and family.
Those who knew Chris will remember him for his big heart, a generous and positive spirit, infectious smile and endearing sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Chris is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Carroll-Humphrey (Hayden) of Dublin, OH, and Cindy Carroll-Kimble of Shaker Hts.; a brother Robert W. Carroll (Anita Bernadine Sodaitis) of Doylestown, PA; brothers-in-law Ernest “Buzzy” Allen, Jr., and Mark B. Allen Sr., of Shaker Hts.; four grandchildren, Jordyn Humphrey, Jayden Humphrey, Karlee Kimble (Fanni), and Courtney Smith-Kimble; two great grandchildren Tai Kimble and Harper Pollard; nephew, Mark B. Allen, Jr. and niece, Diane Allen; along with a host of other relatives and close friends.
Chris was predeceased by his parents, his adopted brother Millard Brown, and dear friends Max Richardson and Larry Hines.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 13 at 11AM at E. F. Boyd & Son Funeral Home and Crematory, 25900 Emery Rd. [44128]. The wake will begin at 10:30AM. A strolling visitation will take place Monday, April 12 at the funeral home between noon and 4:30PM.
