Cites 'campaign of bullying and intimidation" against her for decision not to serve
One of the three candidates who won election to the Maple Heights Board of Education in November announced yesterday that she will not be serving, citing a conflict with an incumbent board member and one of the fifth place finisher in the election.

Tina Stafford-Marbury, who was scheduled to be sworn in as a newly-elected member at Monday's board meeting, notified school officials by email yesterday afternoon that she was resigning from the board "effective immediately".

Tina Stafford-Marbury was elected to the Maple Heights Board of Education in November. Yesterday, she renounced the seat.

Stafford-Marbury's email, a copy of which was obtained by The Real Deal Press, cited alleged "recent unprofessional and negative behaviors of current sitting board member, Mr. Jalen Brown and … Sherria Granger", who came in fifth in the November school board race. Three seats were at stake on the ballot. Current board president Rosalind Moore was re-elected to the board, with first time candidate Alonzo Blackwell coming in second, three votes ahead of Stafford-Marbury.

In the email, addressed to the school treasurer, Stafford-Marbury describes herself as "a champion for our city and our schools" but says that Brown and Granger "have involved themselves in a campaign of bullying and intimidation" against her on social media. She attached some comments to her email that appear to be Instagram posts that criticize her role in promoting a recall campaign against city councilman Richard Trojanski. That effort culminated in a vote on November 23 soundly rejecting the recall.

Messages left for Rosalind Moore and Sharria Granger were not responded to before publishing deadline. Stafford-Marbury did not respond to an email. We were unable to reach board member Jalen Brown. We did reach school board member Wendall Garth, who replied "no comment" to each question we posed.
